The Alchemist Agenda is sorely missing one thing. A warning label. Warning you that you won't be able to put the book down until it's finished. I started reading this at 130 in the morning and found myself up all night, into the morning, reading straight through to the end. Marty Weiss has cleverly woven adventure, mystery, history and so much more into a huge thriller. Even better, his trademark sense of humor shines through at just the right moments. Well done, Marty Weiss. Well done.
"The Alchemist Agenda" is a huge, thrill ride. Non-stop adventure and a total page-turner. Can't wait to see the movie!
I was talking to Corey and we both decided that Mauty Weiss's book here was a little over the top and not suitable of anyone under 18, but I don't think Mauty cares so much.
Thrillers are a genre that I do not regularly review due to the graphic violence and profanity that are often included. Since the author combined the history and thriller genre, I was certainly willing to give it a try. Thankfully, the profanity was relatively mild, and the violence was never too descriptive. The premise of the story was something about which I was unfamiliar. I did not know that there were those who questioned whether Hitler committed suicide. I had also never heard about any of the alchemy work that was rumored to have been done. I have to admit that although I don't give any credence to these rumors, but the book did make a somewhat believable case. I found myself kind of liking Charlie and Ariel (and I appreciated there being no sex scenes--even if it did happen between them). The author did throw me for a loop concerning them, but you have to read that for yourself.
I did struggle to keep the characters straight, and I think a character list would have helped in this area--especially when it came to the foreign names. I also grew tired of the copious amount of death in the book. I understand that death and violence are always a part of a good thriller, but when so many die, I lose interest. But that is just a personal preference.
In short, if you like thrillers, this book is definitely for you. I endeavored to connect with the characters and story, but I just couldn't seem to. The book was written well enough, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if the topic had been an entirely plausible topic.

One of the best reads I had this summer.It was exciting and a real page turner ,.can really see it as a fabulous movie starring Mat Dillon .
Fast moving page turning thriller that I couldn't put down. Believable premise and characters. There are interesting parts about diving.
This is a great story for those who love mystical suspense stories that are believable to the reader who enjoys fictional and or historical accounting with a nice twist of conspiracy... The plot was very well crafted into a quick page turner that travels the world with historical accounting (s) that mixes the Bourne Identity, with the adventures of Indiana Jones; all while the thrills and mystery of a Mel Fisher dreams are made of… An action packed treasure hunt… Going to be a great full feature film or TV series someday… Great Work Marty! And yes I bought a second copy after reading it for a gift…
